Idea Meet Talent

kat-alexKat, wife of podcast host Alex, is going into hospital this month. Given the financial strain this is likely to cause, I’m joining Alex to invite anyone interested in either buying his music or commissioning artwork to get in touch. You’ve no excuse now for boring band merch designs.

Being that Christmas Day is a mere six days away, many of you are already fed up of shopping and the damage inflicted on your I-don’t-want-to-see-it bank balance. That’s understandable. If I have to endure Mariah Carey’s Christmas hit one more time while waiting in a shop just don’t be surprised if a crazy Irish guy goes postal within the G1 postcode. Blogposts about Christmas spending and recycled songs is old hat though.

As the now regular podcast FUTURE LIBRARY has been slowly growing and picking up listeners throughout the second half of 2013, some of you may be familiar with the host Alex. He’s posted the following message online this week and has given me the go-ahead to reproduce it:

“A lot of you will know that Kat, my good lady wife (pictured above) is due to have her gall bladder removed at the end of December. This will bring to a close a year of regular, agonising, attacks that have seen her taken to A&E several times. Kat does get sick pay from work, but only for 4 weeks, and this 4 weeks had been factored into her recovery period from the operation….so when she was hospitalised last week with a potentially life threatening infection, our budgeting for January went out of the window.

Basically we’ve got a bit of a problem.

So, rather than eBegging, like some digital….er….begger, we’ve asked our friends if they’d be willing to buy things from my music sites, or ask me to do drawings for them. My music is all up for free on Bandcamp, but it does give you the option to pay what you want – so please consider paying what you think might help enable us to get through Kat’s final recovery phase with our mortgage and bill payments intact.”

The great thing about Alex’s creative output is that it is always thought provoking. If you’ve enjoyed any of the podcasts then do take a second to investigate his musical adventures!

You can buy things at the following links (descriptions are by Alex):
